Information we collect

Campaign signups. Our signup forms ask for your first name, last name, and email address. Phone number is optional. By submitting a signup form, you ask to receive campaign emails and ways to get involved. Our website server saves your information in a restricted Google Sheet, along with the submission time, the form used, and the email notice shown. These records are not publicly accessible. We may later transfer them to our campaign contact system, NGP VAN, to manage communications consistent with your preferences.

Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any other information you choose to include. Please do not send payment-card details, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information by email or through a signup form.

Website requests. Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information, and request times to deliver the site, troubleshoot problems, and prevent misuse. The signup service also uses a short-lived identifier derived from an IP address to limit repeated requests.

Donations and events. When you donate through ActBlue or register through Mobilize, those services collect the information requested on their forms. The campaign may receive donor or registration details needed to manage those activities. This website does not collect payment-card details.

How we use and share information

We use information to process signups, respond to questions, coordinate volunteer activities, manage contributions, send communications consistent with your preferences, and maintain the website. We may also use records to meet legal and campaign-finance obligations.

Campaign staff and authorized service providers may access information to carry out these tasks. Google Workspace stores website signup records, VoteShift manages the website and intake for the campaign, Vercel hosts the website, ActBlue processes donations, and Mobilize handles event and volunteer registration. Website signups are not currently sent automatically to NGP VAN.

We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, or when needed to address fraud, security threats, or harm. Some contribution information may be included in public campaign-finance reports as required by applicable law. An email opt-out does not remove information from a legally required report.

Cookies and website services

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. If you enter a password to access the site before launch, a cookie remembers that access for up to seven days. Our hosting provider may use additional cookies for protected preview access and security. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, although protected pages may stop working.

Some typefaces load from Adobe Fonts when you open a page. Your browser connects to Adobe to request those fonts, which involves technical information such as your IP address and the website hostname. Adobe explains this processing in its Adobe Fonts privacy notice.

Donation links include a reference code identifying the link’s location on our website and may include a selected or suggested amount. These help the campaign understand which donation links are used; the website does not put your signup name, email, or phone number in those links.

Video and social links take you to services such as YouTube, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn. The hero video is a link, not an automatically loaded video player. Once you follow an external link, the destination’s own privacy practices and choices apply.

Your choices and requests

Email. A notice beside each signup button explains that joining includes campaign emails. You can unsubscribe anytime using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.

Phone. You may leave the phone field blank. Providing a number through these website forms does not give consent to receive automated text messages. Any separate text-message program would require its own consent and disclosures.

Your information. You can contact us to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or update communication preferences. We will review requests under applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Required records, security needs, and records of an opt-out may limit what can be deleted.

For information held independently by ActBlue, Mobilize, or another service, you may also need to contact that provider. Changing a preference with one service does not necessarily change it with the campaign or other services.

Retention and security

Retention depends on the type of information, the purpose for collecting it, campaign recordkeeping needs, applicable legal requirements, and our providers’ practices. For example, donor records may need to be retained after someone unsubscribes from campaign emails.

The website uses HTTPS to protect information in transit and includes checks to reduce abusive signup requests. No website, email service, or storage system can guarantee complete security. Please contact us if you believe information submitted through the site has been misused.

The campaign is based in the United States. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate, as described in their privacy notices.

Children’s privacy

This website is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Please do not use our forms to submit personal information about a child under 13. If you believe such information has been submitted, contact us so we can review it.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as the website, campaign activities, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date at the top. Where required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent before making a change.
